Fire Pits and Fireplaces in Denver, CO
We build custom fire pits and fireplaces in Denver, CO. Colorado limits open burning on air quality alert days, and those are often the same nice days you want to be outside. A gas fire feature lights any day of the year.
Get Your Free 3D Design Plan"We contacted Blackpine for a massive concrete project – adding to our front driveway, creating a more elegant walkway, replacing sidewalk, replacing our RV pad, and building a giant concrete patio. They checked all the boxes: locally owned, shared our vision, very competitive pricing, and confident professionalism. Jose's design input was invaluable and his family crew was always polite. The concrete turned out absolutely amazing. My boys ride their bikes on it every day and we get compliments from neighbors constantly."

"We hired Blackpine Hardscapes to rebuild a sinking walkway, raise a window well, install new pavers, and repair a retaining wall. From start to finish, the team was professional, responsive, and did excellent work."

"I had a great experience with Blackpine Hardscape! They built me a great patio area in my backyard. Jose the owner was amazing to work with – he made the process really easy and showed a few design options that best fit my space."

Built In, Not Dropped In
Fire Features That Belong in the Patio
A built-in fire pit is part of the hardscape, not furniture you set on top of it. The usual shape is a round or square concrete block frame, 36 to 48 inches across, faced in natural stone, concrete veneer, or stucco that matches your patio. The burner sits inside on fire glass, lava rock, or ceramic logs. Built right, it looks like it was always there.
An outdoor fireplace is the hardest masonry we build. It needs a structural foundation, a properly built firebox (the size of the opening compared to the flue is what pulls smoke up instead of out into your face), and stone or brick facing across a large visible surface. We build our fireplaces around firebox kits that come with the correct proportions, then apply the facing to match your design.
- Built-in gas pit, linear fire table, fire bowl, or outdoor fireplace
- Fire glass, lava rock, or ceramic logs in the burner pan
- Seating walls that seat 8 to 12 people with no extra furniture
Wind is the thing people forget. The Front Range gets steady afternoon winds out of the west, so we point the fire feature to carry smoke away from where you sit. On open lots we can add low windbreak walls that block the gusts without blocking the view.

How It Works
From First Sketch to First Fire
Talk Through How You Will Use It
We start with a free consultation at your home. How many people gather around the fire? Do you want a built-in gas pit, a linear fire table, a fire bowl, or a full outdoor fireplace? Those answers shape the whole design.
3D Design and a Fixed Price
You see the fire feature in 3D before anyone digs. Stone facing, seating wall height, where the flame sits in the patio. You can change any of it now, while changes are still free. The proposal price is fixed.
Build, Gas Line, and Inspection
Our crews pour the base and build the surround. Natural gas costs less per BTU than propane and never needs a refill, so we use it where a gas line is available. A licensed plumber runs the line and it gets inspected on its own.
Walkthrough and First Fire
We light it with you, show you the manual shutoff valve, and walk the whole space together. Our work is backed by warranties, so you can just enjoy the fire.
